The Yamaha TRBX304 bass guitar is my current instrument of choice when performing in my band. I personally had mine setup in Drop C with Heavy Core Dunlop strings with a 115, 95, 75, 55 gauge, which works very well alongside a BOSS distortion pedal for playing metal music.
The bass comes with an EQ control switch, allowing to change between 5 different sounds depending on your playing style (Slap, Pick, Flat, Finger, Solo). This brings a lot of diversity with if you’re playing a variety of different cover songs with different requirements i.e. covering a RHCP song and doing slap bass.
It has a mahogany body with a black finish, a 5-Piece maple/mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard (24 frets) and uses Yamaha Ceramic HU pickups with Yamaha Black Chrome hardware. The design itself is fairly simple but very appealing, with the indentation on the body and the black colouring giving off a stylistic, yet simplistic look.
